Dark Sound 2

by Aaron Dezonie

This weeks Dark Sound features a trio of British talent, both accomplished and rising stars. We have some new music from SBTRKT's right hand man Sampha, newish music from Birmingham local producer Lauren Ralph and a slightly old chilled out banger from Lianne La Havas and Shlohmo. Discover more below.

You've more than likely heard Sampha's soulful smooth voice over the top of such SBTRKT songs Hold On and Never Never, if you haven't, why not? His new track sees him running from unknown forces while praising our ears with his angel like voice. Look out for his upcoming debut LP named Process releasing in the near future.

Lauren Ralph, the Birmingham local, has been raising his production game over the last couple years churning out track after track. One track in particular that we have taken a fancy to is Tokyo. You only have to listen to the first 3 seconds and you are instantly taken back to the epic film that is Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift. The Teriyaki Boyz sampled track will be played on repeat for hours. Be sure to check out his Soundcloud for more fire tracks from him and his Blue Room Mafia squad.

Lianne La Havas hasn't been doing much recently, so here's a slightly old song from her remixed by Shlohmo, the down tempo relaxing beat master. This one gives you all kinds of feels and emotions so make of it what you will, this track will mean something different for each listener.
